Research

Dr. Rowley’s research interests are in upper airway mechanics, control of breathing during sleep, and the influence of gender on the pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of sleep-disordered breathing. He has also published on clinical aspects of sleep-disordered breathing, including the use of clinical prediction formulas and CPAP titration. He is a co-investigator on a NIH RO1 studying the pathogenesis of central sleep apnea and a VA Merit Award on breathing instability and upper airway obstruction.
